Average Speed in Different Cases:
Average Speed in Different Cases:
Case 1:
when a body cover equal distance in unequal interval of time
sometime we deal the problem in physics in which we want to calculate the average speed of the object that covered equal distance between two points in unequal interval of time. so in such cases we apply the following formula to calculate the average speed.
Problem:
A Bus is traveling with the speed of 30 Km/h from London East to London west and than travel from London West to London East with 60 Km/h. what is the average speed with which bus is moving?
Solution:
As distance traveled by the bus from London east to London west and return from London west to London east is same so the average speed of bus is
so the average speed of the bus is 40 km/h
Case 2:
when a body cover unequal distance in equal interval of time
Problem:
A car is traveling from point A to B with the speed of 30 km/h and reached in 30 mint. and than move from B to C point with the speed of 50 km/h in 30 mint . what is the average speed of car?
In given problem as distance covered by the car from A to B and than B to C in equal time so the average speed of the car is calculated as
so Average speed of the car is 40 km/h
Case 3:
when a body cover distance between points with equal speed
Problem:
A bus covered distance from point C to point D with the speed of 56 km/h and than covered distance from point D to point E with speed of 56 km/h . what is the average speed in this case?
Solution:
according to the situation the body moving from point C to D and point D to E with same speed so in this case the
Average speed = Velocity of object
Average speed = 56 km/h
So Average speed in the above problem is 56 km/h
