Velocity Time Graph

Velocity Time Graph

Graphs are used to represent the relationship between two variables in pictorial form
in velocity time Graph we plot the graph between Velocity and Time ,calculate the slope and distance covered by the objects.there are certain Graph here we study and calculate the acceleration in different cases:

Linear Graph:

if velocity of object is changing with time , so the relationship between velocity and time is linear.

As velocity is changing with time so Graph of above data is:
in order to find the Acceleration in this case we find the slope of the graph.
to find the slope between two point Let Say A and B. we fall perpendicular on both x-axis and y-axis from point A and B as shown under:
Point A and Point B cut each other at point C. we construct a triangle ABC with angle θ. so

                                            Slope of the Graph = Tan θ = perpendicular/base

Slope of the Graph = ΔV/ Δt

                                            Slope of the graph = 100-60 / 25-15

                                             Slope of graph      = 40/ 10

                                             Slope of graph       = 4  m sec-2

so Acceleration in above case is    4  m sec-2 .

How to Find the Distance :

Area under the Graph line Represent the distance covered by body.

                                        Area of Graph line = 1/2 (Base)(Perpendicular)
                                                                         = 1/2 (25) (100)
                                                                         =  1250 meter
So Distance Covered the object is 1250 Meter.
